Yesterday Tim tweeted for the first time since being traded to the Jets….I’m pretty sure the world ended…if you follow twitter you would think so. The tweets written making a story out of his tweets show just how out of control it has gotten. Now I know I’m writing this so you could assume that we to are adding to the circus. I contend however that’s not the case.

We are a community of people all over the country… and actually all over the world who support Tim, some as far back as his high school days to ones who have a new found appreciation of our larger than life “hero”. I know he would not call himself this but we are allowed to because we have seen the hard work and dedication he’s put into not only football but also to mankind in general.

I guess with all the positive comes the negative but I will say as a long time Tebow fan—or some would say a member of the “Tebow Taliban”(which I personally find offensive) the negative has gone to the level of ridiculous.

I can totally understand if he’s not your guy. I also understand if you feel “the team” is the only thing. I would say to those people I can respect where you’re coming from, but I would ask for you to respect our position in return.

I know there are some in the Tebow ranks that are “intense” and those supporters who should pause before hitting send in twitter or facebook. I also know there are those who have some inexplicable dislike for a guy who doesn’t affect them personally but they feel he’s the antichrist. That I will never understand except to say some people find tearing others down makes them feel better.

I personally loved the Broncos and the city of Denver and although I wished for a different outcome it was not meant to be. We are looking ahead to our next adventure with the Jets. I have no idea where its going to lead but if history has taught us anything it will be memorable.
On our journey forward I’d ask all of Tebow Nation to pause before hitting the send button…we are not better than anyone else but isn’t it honorable if we at least try?
